The Culture and Justice Reform Podcast, False Allegations Watch, STAMMA and more
Since the beginning of September there have been 7 episodes of The Culture and Justice Reform Podcast, presented by Emma Wells and myself. We have hosted director of We Believe You Patrick Graham, teacher Jennifer Thetford Kay, Atheist International’s John Richards, Lady Val Corbett of The Corbett Network, documentary maker Claire Best, philosophy professor Jeffrey Ketland and IPP activist Cherrie Nichol: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCoSMGs0cHZv2i-Xl4W9ru1A/videos
I attended the repealed IPP (Imprisonment for Public Protection) sentence protest outside the Ministry of Justice and Houses of Parliament, along with Cherrie, Clara White, Rhodri Russell, Sue Stephens and Shirley de Bono:
As well as attending the FACT AGM in Birmingham, I was made Editor of False Allegations Watch, a division of false allegations authority Michael Naughton’s Empowering the Innocent project. As well as featuring articles contributed by Claire Best and Jeffrey Ketland, FAW now also publishes Enesa Ibrahimi, newly minted criminologist and the UK’s answer to Bettina Arndt or Catherine Deneuve: https://empowerinnocent.wixsite.com/website
I’ve also become a volunteer/contributor to STAMMA (a revitalised ex-British Stammering Association) and attended their handing in of a petition for more representations of people who stammer in the media, to the BBC recently. Written contributions to be announced shortly:
I also reviewed Suede’s new album Autofiction, Laurence Fox’s My Son Hunter and David Bowie biopic Moonage Daydream (all available on Medium) and was interviewed by Jules Nelson for Abundant Art, here: https://www.abundantart.net/all-interviews/sean-bw-parker-in-conversation-his-book-states-of-independence-is-a-celebration-of-independent-spirited-music-that-will-have-you-reminiscing-about-moments-in-time/
I will be in conversation with DJ Christopher Vowles, poet Dalton Harrison and Ruth McFarlane of DWRM (Do What Really Matters) on Teacher’s Talk Radio on Sunday 30th October at 8pm: https://www.podbean.com/live/qw5vcxwuW9?action=openLiveRoom&channel_id=qw5vcxwuW9&live_task_id=25L69tGEsEm&utm_campaign=w_share_ls&utm_medium=dlink&utm_source=w_share
And my short story The Peacehaven Ghost will be published on Medium tomorrow (30th October) too — just in time for Halloween.
Onwards! SBwP x
